Her Only Escape: Prologue

The town, it was still the same as ever. Only - the smell, it was different. It wasn't the familiar scent that she once smelled when she was just a young girl, it was different. It smelled so dark, so cold - it was as if the whole town had a disguise on.

She walked on the stone gravel leading towards the tall beautiful mansion, it felt like deja vu. Memories after memories flashed before her eyes. It was like walking down memory lane, the memory lane that she tried so hard to forget.

She took a deep breath as she reached the end of the path. As she took the first step on the stairs, she took another deep breath, "Calm down...you can do this." She slowly took another step, and with each step her pace became faster. It was like she was conquering her demons and was taking the initiative step after step.

Ring~Ring~

She held up her cell phone and checked the caller ID, she immediately walked down the stairs and headed back to her car. She turned back to look at the mansion one last time, then headed to her destination.

"Hello?" She answered the call as she got in her car.

"It's time."
